Graduation: What makeup I wore

Hey everyone!
It's been so long since I've posted that it feels weird. I've drafted about three posts in the last four weeks but I haven't been motivated to actually finish them. Perhaps I'll finish them one day....maybe. I'm really sorry if you've been checking my blog and wondering what's going on, sometimes I suffer from writer's block, but today I'm particularly inspired so here we go :D

I thought I'd do a quick post on the makeup that I wore for my graduation as it might be of some use to anyone who will be attending some formal celebration type of event. I used an eyeshadow from MAC called mulch, which is a shadow that has been raved about by many. I have to admit however, that initially I thought this eyeshadow was overrated and I never reached for it, but now it's really grown on me.

Mulch is a beautiful bronze eyeshadow with a velvet consistency that isn't too warm toned.  It has tiny gold flecks which aren't overpowering, but definitely contribute to the warmth of the shadow. I just decided to apply mulch all over my lid with  a fluffy 217 MAC brush and using a 224 MAC larger fluffy brush I buffed out any harsh edges with an eyeshadow from MAC called Texture. A slick of eye-liner and mascara and a touch of Amber Lights eyeshadow  from MAC in the inner corners of my eyes, and I was good to go!

Swatches of Mulch against other similar shadows for comparison:

Here are some swatches of other eyeshadow I own against Mulch. It is Sleek's bronze eyeshadow from the Storm palette that is most similar, although in reality Sleek's eyeshadow   has larger shimmer particles, and is less finely milled.
Now onto my graduation piccys:
